This app is fantastic. Not only does it show all your information, it was also very informative during my recent emergency stay in hospital. You can see information about consultations which are extremely helpful when your not quite taking in the information that’s being related to you. You can also see historical information and any upcoming appointments are also added. You can also track things like your weight, blood pressure and order repeat prescriptions. Definitely recommend 👍🏼

Over 4,000 people are checking their blood pressure every month!

How does it work?

When your heart beats, your skin subtly blushes red—changes too small to see with the naked eye. lifelight’s technology detects these tiny colour shifts, cleans up the signals, and turns them into vital signs.

A method called photoplethysmography (PPG) is used, similar to what’s used in finger pulse oximeters. While those require a clip on your fingertip, lifelight goes further with remote photoplethysmography (rPPG), making it a completely contactless digital blood pressure checker.

FAQ's

How accurate is my lifelight reading?

lifelight is powered by data from over 12,000 individuals through clinical studies and NHS pilots. In real-world settings, blood pressure cuffs can often yield less accurate results due to issues like incorrect fitting, the need for recalibration, or using the wrong cuff size. * lifelight eliminates these concerns entirely, ensuring reliable readings every time.

What do my results mean?

Understanding blood pressure is key for cardiovascular health. Blood pressure is shown as two numbers, measured in millimetres of mercury (mmHg):
Systolic Pressure (first number): This is the pressure in your arteries when your heart beats. A normal reading is usually less than 120 mmHg.
Diastolic Pressure (second number): This is the pressure in your arteries when your heart rests between beats. A normal reading is usually less than 80 mmHg.

If you are unsure about what your results mean, it is best to reach out to your GP.

What phone do I need to use this feature?

You will need a recent iOS or Android smart phone with a front-facing camera.

What are normal blood pressure levels?

A normal blood pressure reading falls between 90/60 mmHg and 120/80 mmHg. If you are concerned about your blood pressure, please reach out to your GP. Find out more here.

What are some risk factors for high blood pressure?

High blood pressure is the biggest risk factor for heart disease that we can control, and it plays a large role in health problems worldwide. Measuring blood pressure is one of the most important health checks, so it’s vital that blood pressure devices give accurate results.
