There is excitement, especially in the United Kingdom (but not only), due to the news, although not yet confirmed, leaked by some media according to which Kate Middleton would be preparing to confer its own Royal Warrants, that is, the prestigious recognition assigned by some members of the royal house to brandsto companies and in general to commercial activities (of any kind) who have served and provided goods and services to Buckingham Palace.
Kate Middleton.
An authoritative honour, which aims to underline the highest standards of service, quality, excellence, craftsmanship and also sustainability of the individual chosen companies (which do not necessarily have to be Made in UK), and which is initially granted for a maximum of five years . This can be renewed, but also canceled if it does not comply with the established rules or the quality of the service is insufficient. Once you have received the title, the chosen activities are permitted to use and display the royal coat of arms, accompanied by a legend giving details about the member of the Royal Family who granted the Royal Warrant, the name of the company, the nature of the goods or services provided and the address of the company’s head office.

In short, a coveted title, even more so if it is granted now William’s wife. For two reasons. The first is very simple. The future sovereign is well known for reinvigorating the coffers, visibility and economic fertility of the brands she chooses through her outfits (and more). This means that for many businesses, receiving a Royal Warrants from Princess Catherine would be equivalent to obtaining the fruits of a Kate effect squared. The frantic race to obtain it is therefore understandable.
To make matters worse, then, there would be another reason, namely the fact that Kate Middleton would be the first royal to wear the role of grantor – or an officer assigned the Royal Warrant chosen by the monarch -, with the title of Princess of Wales since the time of Queen Mary (grandmother of Elizabeth II), who awarded the Royal Warrants before her husband, King George V, ascended the throne in 1910, and therefore she became queen consort in all respects. Although Charles, in fact, before becoming king, assigned his when he was still Prince of Wales, Lady Diana, once she became Princess of Wales, was not granted this assignment. This is why this change of gear in the long, very long history of Royal Warrants (it would in fact have medieval origins) would influence even more, cloaking the brands and companies named by Kate Middleton with an even more special aura.
